Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Smith Lab! If you would like to contribute to the lab, you first need to complete a few steps:
1) Please fill out our lab interest form for us to learn more about you and your research interests.
In the UC Learning Center, there are two trainings you will need to attend. Register by logging into your UC Learning Center portal and searching for the training in the search bar. You may need to request access to the Learning Center before you are able to log in. Fill out this request form, and you will be given access to the portal within a couple of days.
Reach out to the lab manager - attach proof of completion for these trainings in your email.
PPE Safety Training - this cannot be accessed through the UC Learning Center, but will be a requirement after you have been added to and acknowledged the Lab Risk Assessment through the UC Risk and Safety Solutions page. After completing the PPE training, you may also make an appointment for your personal PPE on the main campus. If you decide to opt out of this appointment, you may use common use gear provided by the lab.
Join a lab orientation over zoom - the lab manager holds an orientation 1-2 times a quarter based on need. Ask about when the next orientation is scheduled.
